Make a Blog and Make it Fun!
Make a blog, and make it fun! I’ve been concentrating so much on the money-making aspect that I’ve kind of ignored the other huge aspect: how to make a blog and have fun doing it!
Good morning all, it’s Gail again with a blog update and a guest author, Russell Stewart, telling us a little bit more about the overall aspect of blogging. Sorry I’ve been kind of glossing it over, because if you don’t enjoy it, blogging will be an awful lot like work!
And after Russell gives us some insight on how to make a blog fun, I’ll give you an update on the latest of my blogging experiences, in the section called “Gail’s Blog Update” and it’s also exciting!
But in the meanwhile, please welcome Russell.
Make a Blog and Make it Fun
Blogging is an art of enjoyment, and web logging has reached phenomenal heights because of that aspect.
Even in the pretty recent past, creating websites was considered to be ‘geeks-and-professionals-only’ territory. However, it’s been streamlined so very much that a couple of simple click will get the job done. Anyone and everyone can do it! It’s now child’s play to make a blog.
With blogging came an onslaught of new opportunities for both business and pure enjoyment. Interactivity, social networking and communication swept the internet. And whoa! the introduction of RSS feeds contribute further to this, making it even easier to get the information you want.
Blogging is now also a way to make money, You can do it via AdSense, affiliate marketing and actual products. Right now, most businesses maintain blogs to promote their specific industry and get visitors to their sites.
If you really want to express your thoughts freely, you should get a blog! It’s something that anyone can do. It’s easy to choose a topic for your blog when you know what you want to say. Some blogs are open-ended, with just about any topic discussed among the writers and readers. These can be considered “anything goes” and they can be quite fun to read.
Some would rather maintain specialized blogs. These blogs have posts relating to a single topic and this topic can be anything such as business, travel, computers, advertising etc. Such blogs are interesting only to those who are specifically looking for information on that field.
There are blogs which allow guest authors to contribute interesting write-ups (like the one you’re reading right now). General readers are also enticed to participate in blogging, to make it more lively and conversational.
Whether you write for money or for fun, whether you are a high-risk entrepreneur or stay-at-home mom, regardless of whether you do it a few hours a week or many hours a day – blogging is fun! It’s the next generation in community involvement.

Gail’s Blog Update
OK, I have an update on Dave’s and my great blog experiment (read more about it here and here). I mentioned that we had some new blogs we were trying out and here’s the latest!
(By the way, if you’re wondering why I’m not mentioning the exact URLs of these blogs, it’s because I don’t want to artificially inflate the results by having people click from this site. Never fear, when the blogs get to be three weeks old, I’ll release their names.)
OK, I created a blog on Tuesday, in an area I know less than nothing about. But the numbers looked good, and I used the exciting blogging tool to get the information to the blog. And I was bogged down yesterday morning when one of the steps ran into a problem (a free site I needed to spend 10 seconds on was down). Anyway, the site was operational yesterday around lunch.
Today…drum roll…my brand new blog is sitting at spots number 2 and 3 in Google!!!! Now that’s the keyword with the quotes, but even without the quotes I am still on page 1 of Google! I’m writing this at about 9:30 AM, so it’s been less than 24 hours for me to reach Google page 1.
David’s blog that he did this weekend is still going very strong, spot number 1 in Google with the quotes, as well as spot number 10! Without the quotes, he’s number 2.
And to make things even more exciting, the final two steps are underway for these three sites (my original, my new and Dave’s). They take a little more time, but they should explode the blogs even more.
Talk about make a blog and make it fun! It’s fun and exciting to see all this happen. And it’s all due to this exciting blogging tool that we discovered.
Onward! More blogs!
