How to Keep Your Web Content Fresh

by Theo McLanahan

The majority of new website owners feel like constructing the website is the hardest part of having an online business. Within time, however, they become aware the updating the site with fresh content requires the most work.

Constantly adding new articles is the best way to keep your content fresh. If possible, try to add a new article every day. This will also help your search engine optimization. Search engines love content and the more content you have, the more traffic they’ll send to you.

For individuals who want to keep their web content fresh and interesting but do not write for themselves, there are many options available. Online reprint directories are full of articles that you can post on your website. When you use these articles you will have to include a box at the end of the article with information about the author.

There are other options if you want to add articles to your site without advertising for another person’s website. You can purchase individual or packs of articles called private label rights articles. Even though these articles are reasonably priced, they are not unique; several people can buy the same articles. To get truly unique content, you can hire a ghostwriter to write articles for your website. This is a very common practice amongst website owners.

Keep your content timely. Nothing says “stale” better than outdated content. If something of importance is happening, find a way to include it into your content. For example, during the month of October you can include information about Breast Cancer Awareness.

You can also add information to your site that readers can use related to approaching holidays. For instance, if your website is marketed to families, you can post lots of helpful information about how to make costumes, make jack-o-lanterns, and have a fun and safe time trick-or-treating as the date gets close to Halloween.

When you write several articles or post other information about a specific event, take that information off of your homepage when the event is over with. You do not have to delete the content, just move it to a page where it can be archived. That way, readers who are interested in those articles can still obtain them but your homepage will not look like it has old or outdated content on it.

When celebrities are in need of a fresh image, they get a makeover. This can work for your site as well. If you have been using the same banner for your heading since the day you first went live on the internet, change it up a little and see if your visitors take notice.

Fresh content also means the graphics, pictures, and photos that you use on your website. People who make a habit of visiting your site will instantly know that you have updated your website if they see that images have been moved around as content has been adjusted.

Updating your website is one of many great ways to boost traffic to your website. You can include information about updates in the emails you send to individuals on your mailing list. Your newsletter could feature a small part of a newly posted article followed by a link to the page where the entire article appears.

Blogging Basics

by M Taylor

When you are getting your start as a blogger, there are a few important terms which all bloggers must learn. You need to know and understand these important pieces of terminology: blog, web host, domain and platform. After you learn these important terms, you’ll be talking like a blogging pro. When you know how a blog works (and of course, what a blog is), you’ll be able to easily pass your exam in blogging 101.

Blog is an abbreviated form of the word weblog; that is to say a series of posts presented by date, much like an online diary. The majority of blogs are plain text, but video and photo blogs are out there as well. Blogs themselves are relatively simple, but to set one up you’ll need to learn some of the technical aspects; you’re going to need a web host, a domain and a platform.

First, let’s address platform. Your platform is a piece of software which lets you write your posts and upload them to your blog. Platforms will also include design tools to customize the look of your blog.

Next are web hosts. A web host is the server which your blog resides on; think of it as a file cabinet. Your computer will talk to the host every time you edit a post or upload new content to your blog.

Last is domain, which is the address of your blog on the web. This address will usually end in .com.

After learning all of these important blogging terms, you can congratulate yourself for passing your final blogging 101 exam.

5 Top Secrets to Blog Your Way to the Bank

by Patrick G. Moore

Are you seeking for a way to make some extra income online then blogs can be a very good way to get started. To the majority of people, a blog is just a fun thing you could have to write your opinions in and making money with blogs is only for a few lucky students that stumbled on a popular topic.

For those who know the full potential of this money making medium also know that it’s not just setting up a blog and watch the money flow into your bank account. Yes, it takes a bit of luck as well as a lot of work and effort in order to be successful but if you are consistent, determined and work for a long term strategy, you will be rewarded.

While you can use free blogging platforms, a blog on your own blog is highly recommended since it will give you a lot more flexibility and you are not dependent on a service that could shut you down any second.

In order to make your blog successful you need to have several aspects in place like research, setup, optimization, monetization and traffic driving. Here are my 5 top secrets to build a money making blog:

1. Research
Find a niche that people are willing to spend money in and you are comfortable to work with. To come up with ideas go through popular Magazines in Amazon, Popular products in Ebay and most published/viewed articles in Ezinearticles. Choose a subniche that has at least 10-500 searches a day in Wordtracker and under 10.000 competing pages when searching for the main keyword in Google. Also check Clickbank and Commission junction to see if there are good products that match the keywords.

3. Setting up your Blog
A keyword rich domain name does wonders with Google so choose wisely. For the niche golf swings you could choose a domain name like improvemygolfswings.com. The recommended blogging platform to install is Wordpress. Optimize the blog with at least the following plugins: All-in-One SEO Pack, Google XML Sitemaps, Akismet, Feedburner, Google Analytics and Auto Social.

3. Populate your Blog
Choose 2-3 main keyword phrases to start optimizing your blog for. Use phrases that you gathered from the research phase to find content for your blog by searching Ezinearticles, technorati, PRweb, forums, magazines and books. You can also use Google Alerts to receive daily keyword specific articles. Make daily posts by rewriting the content you gathered in your own style or just adding your comments under the article. Don’t just copy other peoples work. Include keywords in the title, body and header tags but don’t over optimize the posts.

4. Blog Monetization
Clickbank and Commision Junction are excellent affiliate networks to find all kind of products to promote. Another way is to search Google for [main keyword] + affiliates (or affiliate program). Sprinkle your affiliate links throughout the blog and put a few nice looking banners in the sidebar. It’s important not to have too many banners, since lots of people are allergic to advertisement banners.

5. Traffic Generation
Start submitting articles to Ezinearticles.com, Goarticles.com, Isnare.com and other article directories. If you want more exposure, consider using an article submission service. Submit your RSS feed to RSS services such as Feedsubmitter.com, Feedagg.com, Feedage.com and Feedfury.com. Make a bookmark of each post in social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumble Upon, Del.icio.us and Propeller. Socialmarker is a resource that automatically posts to all these sites with a click on the mouse. For more backlinks comment on other people’s blogs and create article pages on free webservices like Squidoo, Hubpages, Weebly and Blogger.

If you are persistent and keep doing the traffic generation tactics mentioned above you will soon see a boost in visitors and hopefully a good amount of revenue stream. Always strive for good quality content that enriches the users experience and update your blog regularly.

However, even if you followed the instructions and daily worked hard on the traffic tactics, your blog might for some reason not get much response. If you know about the 80/20 rule, the same principles can be applied here. 20% of your blogs will make 80% of you income. So for a blog that isn’t performing well after a month or two of consistent traffic optimization put some Adsense on it and fire up another blog with the same process. Do not delete the old blog since sometimes a blog can suddenly bloom up and attract people. Make some random posts to it now and then. By having a couple of posts, you are spreading your chance of hitting a really good performing blog.

The highly successful million dollar blogger Rob Benwell teaches a lot of secret strategies in his latest e-book, Blogging to the Bank 3.0. This guide is gold worth for someone just starting up but also includes a lot of tricks for the more experienced bloggers. Another tip is Firepow, a top notch tool which helps you automate the setup of a blog with the right plugins, getting content, optimize posts and promote all your blogs within a single easy to use web interface.

Get More Visitors By Writing A Blog

by Theo McLanahan

If you want to get more visitors to your website (and who doesn’t?) you should look at starting a blog. Blogs are an excellent way to get visitors engaged at your site, and open communications with them. These tips will help you use your blog to generate traffic to your affiliate marketing.

Post on your blog regularly; at least 3 times a week. By updating your blog on a regular basis, you are giving your readers a reason to keep referring back to your blog. If you are providing timely and informative posts, your readers will see you as an expert in your field.

Your visitors will come to your blog looking for answers to their questions. A regular posting schedule also help to develop your relationship with your customers. They’ll get to “know you” and trust you.

If you install a system like Feedburner on your blog, you’ll make it easier for your customer to stay up to date. They’ll be able to easily subscribe to your blog and they can choose how they want to receive updates - email, RSS reader, etc. These services range from free to fairly low cost and the setup is quite easy - you simply install a piece of code or a widget into your blog.

It’s also a good idea to have a “blogroll” on your blog site. This is basically a list of related blogs that you feel will help your readers and your link to your affiliate marketing site. When you link to other blogs this way, they will see it and often will link back to your blog. This can help to widen your audience by reaching readers on other blogs. Just make sure the blogs you link to are related to the subject of yours.

One of the easiest ways to drive traffic to your website through your blog is by linking back to the site every time you write a new blog post. Whenever you add a new article to your main website, post a teaser excerpt on your blog along with a link to the full article on your website.

Also include links to older articles that become timely again. For instance, you may have put up an article on your site in the summer that explains how to keep kids occupied by creating costumes. When Halloween comes around, don’t forget to link back to that article. You may also want to include links to your opt-in pages or pages.

When you start using these tips on a regular basis, you’ll see an increase in visitors to both your blog and your website. Track your stats so you can see which methods work the best, and continue to do more of those.

What is Blogging and Why Should I Do It?

by Randall White

A blog is a bit like an online journal, although it can be written by various people, or by just one individual. It’s written on a website in chronological order, although usually appearing in reverse order. Blog or ‘blogging’ are also used as verbs to imply an action - in other words, the action of making a comment on a blog somewhere.

The term ‘blog’ comes from Jorn Barger’s term ‘weblog’ and supposedly came into existence when Peter Merholz divided it into the two words ‘we blog’ on his website for a lark.

When people communicate using a blog, they are likely discussing a specific subject of interest for them. So, if anyone wishes to learn what’s the best red widget to buy for his boat, others will write in with their comment on how that particular widget worked - or didn’t work. Blogs are ideal for uncovering what other folk’s experiences have been with whatever you can think of.

If some person is knowledgeable on some topic with plenty of experience that other people can benefit from, then he may start up a blog about it and offer advice. They may also offer links to other websites that promote items applicable to the area of expertise. Also he may offer links to other blogs or other articles about the same topic.

Blogs utilize both images and text, but some blogs emphasize art (artblog), videos (vlog), images (photoblog) and audio, that is, podcasting or MP3. Blogs can be long or short, but those that are very short are referred to as micro-blogging. Blogs are typically updated frequently and the technology utilized today permits people who understand very little about it to become competent bloggers with just a tiny learning curve.

Early on, bloggers called themselves diarists, journalers, or even escribitionists. A comment or article placed on a blog is called a post, a blog post or an entry. Aged blogs on a topic are sometimes referred to as ‘archives’ and may be maintained on a different page or pages that are accessed via a hyperlink. There are at times a variety of links - like the index at the end of a book and they are found on the left or right of the blogging page.

The beauty of blogging is that people who have the same interests can all join together and talk about, getting to know each other (so to speak) at the same time.

Christmas Cash - 7 Easy Steps To Make Money This Christmas

by Mark J Thompson

A week before Thanksgiving last year I realized that I had a major expense due early in the New Year and if I was going to pay that I wasn’t going to have any much needed Christmas cash. I had to come up with a plan. A few hours of thinking and writing down ideas on a sheet of paper I had my plan.

8 weeks later I had earned over $20,000 in commissions and sold almost $250,000 dollars worth of physical products. My cash crisis was over. Not only that I had a blog that continued to earn me money throughout the year.

Here are 7 tips that will help you to earn money this Christmas. Although you’ll find that by picking the right products you’ll have a steady income throughout the year. So let’s get started.

1. Choose only one or two products and concentrate on them, learn as much about them as possible.

2. Use article marketing to promote the products, it’s cheaper and more effective that Pay Per Click

3. Create a blog, you can use a generic name but ensure that individual posts use the product name in full

4. Don’t use generic names, rather than use “Tissot Watches” use product names “Tissot T Touch Titanium”

5. Use big name retailers, people trust them so use Amazon or even eBay

6. Set up Squidoo Lenses and Hubpages. The more sites you can get into the top 10 of Google the more money you’ll make. I had 7 of the top ten spots in Google at one point last year.

7. Plan ahead, if the retailer sells out of stock you’ll need an alternative source of income so make the links easy to change. If this happens eBay or AdSense can earn you a lot of money. I made more commission from eBay than the retailer because after shop stock was gone people were selling at 3 times the retail price on eBay.

It really isn’t too late to make cash for Christmas, only yesterday I set up a new blog selling an in demand product. Check sources like amazons best sellers list or eBay pulse for products that are in demand. Also watch TV and magazines what is being advertised? There are thousands of products so you don’t have to focus on the ones that everyone else is, Remember there are over 10 million pages for the Wii Fit! So choose your product wisely.

There are several ways that you can set up a website to make money for Christmas this year. My preferred method is Wordpress as it ranks well in the search engines and it’s easy to set up and to tweak.

The Real Secret To Building Traffic With Blogs

by Theo McLanahan

Blogs can be used quite effectively on your website as a tool for drawing in more traffic. They also let you spread information to individuals who are targeted by your business. Use your blog to produce a higher volume of traffic on your website by following these tips.

Make regular blog posts, preferably three times each week. If you keep adding fresh information to your blog, people will be more likely to return and read more. You can get people who read your blog to consider you an expert in your field if your blogs are especially informative.

Customers who read your blog on a regular basis will come to have a beneficial relationship with you, since they will begin to feel that they can trust what you say. Many readers will come to you for answers and advice.

Feed burners allow you to maintain communication between you and your readers more easily. Readers won’t even have to visit your website to read your blog. Instead, all of your new posts and updates will be sent straight to your customers’ email. Feed burners are easy to add to your blog. All you need is some simple HTML code. There are many online services that can help you, some of which will do so free of charge.

You can also opt to have a ‘blog roll’ or list of blogs your readers may find helpful on the side of your page. If you put the link to another blog on your page, ask for a link back to your blog, too. This can help widen your audience, as readers of others’ blogs will see the link to your blog and check it out. Just remember to keep your target market in mind. It doesn’t make sense to trade links with just any blog.

One of the best, and easiest, ways to drive traffic to your website through your blog is to link back to your site as you post. Each time you put a new article on your site, you can write a ‘teaser’ post containing an excerpt of the article and include a ‘read more’ link to the page on your site that features the complete text.

When older articles that have been on your website for a while become especially useful to your customers again, you should place links to them on your blog. An article about entertaining kids during the summer with costumes can be brought to your blog readers’ attention again when Halloween is getting close.

You may also want to include links to your opt-in pages or pages.

About the Author:

If you want to drive more traffic to your website (and who doesn’t?) you should be using free article submission as one of your promotional strategies. And you should be submitting your articles at Zogol.com, one of the few article directories that lets you put anchor text links in the body of the article, not just the resource box.

How To Make Money Online From Google And Clickbank?

by Richard Steaney

When you decide to promote a home business opportunity, you’ll need to find a niche where you can endorse a product or service. You can go through the Clickbank marketplace and start finding a niche, where you can find products that may provide solutions to people in that niche.

With that said, you will definitely want to go through the Commission Blueprint on how to build an Internet home business that is consistently profitable. Some of the basic techniques to set up this system will include information on how to:

  • find the right niche market
  • create a product or service customized to the needs of this market.
  • set up a website that will let you collect leads
  • cake your profits to the bank

This system works irrespective of your proficiency, and you will be extremely consistent. You can begin with the four key ideas behind any successful business.

It’s easier to find an existing need and fill it than it is to try to manufacture one where it does not exist. Ask yourself what the needs of your target market are and how you can best fill these needs with a product or service. The best way to go is to market a high quality product with a proven track record.

In a successful, fast-paced scenario, the best place to start is with an affiliate program. The reason for this is that it already has a track record, and people are already aware of it. What you want one of fine products that have resale rights or products, where you can become an affiliate.

If you buy a product that has resale rights you have the right to sell it as your own product, to a customer for personal use. With master resale right, you can sell the product as well as resale right related to it.

In case of affiliate products, you join hands with a service provider, whose links you put on your website. When a consumer visits your web page, and clicks on the link, he is directed to the merchant website. If he makes a purchase, you get a commission.

Of the two types of products, affiliate marketing is the easiest. Because there are usually a lot of affiliates promoting a specific product, brand identity is high. When you resell a product, you were pretty much working alone making brand identity is lower.

When you use the Clickbank affiliate program you can choose a commodity that has good market value. By doing this you lessen the time taken to establish the product and for sales to start booming. But if your product is hooked to a certain niche market, where people are interested, you can use either the resale variety or the affiliate.

You can merge affiliate marketing with a product resale. The Commission Blueprint at the link below will see you through to being an affiliate marketing magnate. With reselling products, you can make quick profits with our modus operandi.

What are the Advantages of a Online Business RSS Websites

by RSS Blog Review

Welcome to my What are the advantages of home business RSS websites. RSS or what is now known as “Really Simple Syndication” is a file format that is incorporated by Internet users in their websites to allow for ‘web syndication, making their web content available in a format that can be universally understood by other people. In essence, RSS is a mini database that contains headlines and descriptions (a summary or a line or two of the full article) of your web content, including hyperlinks that enable users to link back to the full article of their choice. Click Here! for a great RSS software program.

RSS sites that is, websites that contain RSS feeds (articles or postings) typically have colorful graphics to indicate to users that the specific web content is available through RSS feeds. These graphics are usually depicted by orange rectangles that are usually marked with RSS or XML. With its increased popularity, RSS is now being adopted and used by more website owners or publishers. Today, numerous resources are now available that aid Internet experts and even beginners as well on how to set up and use RSS.

Setting up RSS feeds and adding them to your website can be a pretty simple process that does not involve a lot of time or any money. Listed below are some simple and basic steps that you might want to follow. Have your web content and/or news in an RSS feed format, such as XML (appropriate and ready-made feeds are also available from other sources). Click the orange graphic this is the RSS feed icon. Take note of the URL of the RSS feed; this will be displayed in the address bar (for Internet Explorer). Input the feed URL on your RSS feed creation program. Click on the “Generate Feed” button. This will generate the RSS code for your web content.

Enter the RSS code in the appropriate place on your own website. Having created an RSS feed for your website, next comes the task of publishing your web content and news and having them displayed on other sites and headline viewers. This is made possible with the use of RSS readers or aggregators. RSS readers or news aggregators are used to view particular web contents. RSS readers contain the collection of feeds or RSS files from content providers, and they are generally classified into 3 main types.

The desktop RSS readers also can be known as standalone desktop application, they generally run in the background and are similar to an e-mail client, collecting the feeds and refreshing items automatically as they are updated. Web-based aggregators these are online services that enable users to personalize web pages, refreshing them each time the page is accessed or each time a person logs in to the service. Plug-in aggregators/readers these make use of either web browsers or e-mail clients, which allow users to view RSS feeds while inside an existing program.

Having an RSS-enabled website provides Internet users who are website owners with the following benefits: Allows users to generate up-to-date news and postings, as information and content in the RSS readers or aggregators are automatically updated each time the RSS feed is refreshed.
